Quality management of long-term care services in Japan

Abstract
Promoting the quality of life is an important aim of the long-term care, and the quality of life is related to quality of care. Assuring the quality of care is an important theme in the long-term care facilities, the inadequacy of the quality of care has long been an issue. Many countries are working to assure the quality of long-term care provided to their citizens.
Quality management strategies for long-term care in Japan include regulation and inspection of institutional care, long-term care service information, third-party evaluation and so on. The purpose of this article is to describe a variety of quality improvement in the long-term care efforts in Japan and discuss the implications our quality management of long-term care services.
